SAAG CONFERENCE: GRAHAMSTOWN 1998

The Southern African Association of Geomorphologists (SAAG) invites SASAQS members to join them at their Biennial Conference in Grahamstown from 28th June to the 1st July 1998. A full day session on Catchment Management and River Conservation is planned for Tuesday 30th. Professor Geoff Petts of impoundment fame from Birmingham University will be delivering the keynote address. Papers on abiotic-biotic links within the stream environment will be especially welcomed.

Confirmation that you would like to give a paper is required by 30th November (not 15th October as indicated on the circular [-- or as soon as you receive this newsletter: it may not even be back from the printer by then! Editor.]). We will be requiring camera ready copies of papers in time to compile the conference proceedings in May.

The registration fee for the full conference is R400.00 which includes lunches, evening meals and a full proceedings. Delegates are responsible for their own bed and breakfast accommodation, but we will help organise University accommodation if required. SASAQS delegates who wish to come for the one day only will be charged R200.00 which will include the proceedings, lunch and the banquet in the evening. We are doing our best to emulate the hospitality of most SASAQS conferences!
